Wagg's Bar-B-Q
About This Spot
Wagg's Bar-B-Q welcomes you with a warm, homey embrace the moment you step through its doors. Nestled along 7th Street in Woodward, this is the kind of place where time feels a little slower, inviting you to settle in and savor both the atmosphere and your meal. The casual, unpretentious decor carries a quiet charm that echoes the restaurant’s long-standing presence in the community, creating a comforting backdrop for gathering around generous plates of hearty barbecue.
Inside, the pace is easygoing—the hum of friendly conversation mingling with the clinking of cutlery and the occasional burst of laughter. Servers move with a practiced ease, offering attentive care without hurry, making you feel less like a visitor and more like the guest of an old friend. This steady rhythm reflects an understanding that good barbecue isn’t just about the food, but the experience of sharing it.
The menu hints at classic, soulful flavors crafted with care—from tender smoked meats to thoughtfully paired sides. Whether you’re drawn to the richness of ribs and brisket or the crispness of a blooming onion shared over stories, there’s a satisfying generosity in every portion. The occasional fresh salad bar adds a light balance to the plate, complementing the savory dishes that feel rooted in tradition but served with warmth. A comforting dessert, like carrot cake with its creamy frosting, rounds out the meal quietly but memorably.
Wagg’s is unmistakably a gathering spot, cherished for more than just its flavorful fare. It’s a place where locals linger a while, where road-trippers make a welcome detour, and where the simplest moments—sharing a bite, catching up, savoring comfort food—become something quietly special. The atmosphere, flavored by familiarity and friendly service, invites you not just to eat, but to feel connected to a space that remembers its history while welcoming each new visitor with open arms.

Passing through Woodward and we stumbled upon this gem of a place. From the great decor to great service to great food, I left completely satisfied. One of the oldest restaurants in town too and now I know why.

I had the catfish and shrimp combination. It came with a roll, a side of cole slaw and the salad bar. Everything was great except the coleslaw.

The wait Staff was quick and friendly. The Mac n cheese was a little soupy today, I didn't care for the taste of brisket, sausage was good, ribs were okay. Ham n cheese sandwich I wanted extra light onions got a lot, just wiped off and ate. It had good flavor. The waggs fries- potato chips were really cool and good! Try those!
